Managing Document Templates

Document Templates are general documents that are commonly used. A template could be a standard legal document, a form letter used for mass-mailing, or simply a fax cover sheet. By creating a template in the Document Template tool, the document can be easily accessed whenever it is needed.

One of the key features of the tool is the ability to customize a document with specific information, such as details about an account, lease, asset, etc. By creating a template with merge fields, a customized document (like a form letter) can be created in a few simple clicks without manually typing in the data. A customized document can be generated for a single account, contact, etc. (see Generating Documents), or a batch of customized documents can be created all at once for a group of accounts, contacts, etc. (see Running Marketing Campaigns).

Document templates may be created exclusively for private use or may be made available for other users to access and/or modify.
