If your system has appointment security enabled, you must be the organizer of the appointment (you created it) in order to cancel the appointment. If your system has appointment security disabled, you can cancel an appointment if you or any of your subordinates are in the attendee list.
Note: Cancelling the appointment cancels it for everyone on the attendee list. If you are an invitee and only you cannot attend, you should decline the appointment.
To cancel an appointment:
1) If you are in the Schedule Tool, find the appointment listing in one of the calendar views.
· From the weekly or monthly calendar, double click on the appointment to open the daily calendar for that day.
· Double-click on the appointment listing in the daily calendar. The Appointment form will appear.
2) If you are in the record that the appointment was with:
· Look for it
in the Pending User Activity section of the Contact
tab or
Click on the Hist tab, and then
the ALL subtab (if it is not the active one).
· Find the
appointment in the list and click on . The
Appointment form opens.
(Note: The Hist tab – Appointments subtab may show
different icons based on the log type, but you can open the appointment from
that section also by clicking on the icon.)
3) To delete the appointment from the system, click on the Remove button. The appointment will be removed from all attendees’ calendars and emails will be sent.
4) To cancel the appointment but still show it in the system,
· Click on the Status field and select Cancelled.
· Click on
Save.
The appointment will still be shown but will be shaded.
